SR Structures Selected for IMOCA Bowsprit
SR Structures is proud to announce that Carrington Boats has engaged our team to manufacture the bowsprit for the new IMOCA racing yacht being built for offshore racing skipper Sebastian Simon.

Designed by renowned naval architect Guillaume Verdier and engineered by Pure Design & Engineering (New Zealand), the yacht represents the latest evolution in IMOCA performance and technology. The bowsprit is a critical structural component, designed to withstand the immense loads generated by modern offshore sail plans while contributing to overall weight optimisation and reliability.

Manufactured at SR Structures' facilities, the bowsprit required approximately 300 hours of labour. Construction was carried out within our climate-controlled clean room, ensuring precise material handling, laminate quality, and consistency throughout the build process. This project also marks the beginning of an exciting new manufacturing relationship between SR Structures and Carrington Boats. By combining expertise in high-performance yacht construction both companies are establishing a strong partnership focused on delivering world-class race yachts.

We are delighted to contribute to a world-class racing programme and to work alongside Carrington Boats, Guillaume Verdier, and Pure Design & Engineering on this exciting new IMOCA campaign.

We look forward to following the yacht's progress and wish Sebastian Simon and the entire project team every success in the challenges ahead.
